Market trends April 2017 / Sanitary and Household

Prices for tissue parent reels have risen, following on from higher raw material costs.
The rise has been at least 20 euros/t to 30 euros/t, depending on the supplier, and extends to the two grades. Virgin fibers is feeling the greatest impact due mainly to higher pulp prices. For recycled fiber grades, this is an opportunity for the producers to pass on the various prices for RCF. In addition to these reasons, a scarcity of wadding has been reported, thanks to a number of machine shutdowns, for maintenance or other reasons. This has resulted in a lengthening of lead times, particularly for pure pulp, growing from the previous 3 - 4 weeks to 3 months, thus paving the way for higher prices.
